PREVENTION STRATEGIES

Responsible Vendor Trainings

The goal is to reduce the sale of alcohol to underage customers, decrease local alcohol-related automobile accidents, injuries, and deaths.

Compliance Checks – Mystery Shopper

This is an environmental strategy addressing the local conditions related to retail availability and underage drinking in Hialeah.

MOCK DUI_TEXTING

The Mock DUI event is an educational assembly staged before high school students to demonstrate the harms and risks of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Know The Law Trainings

Workshop discusses ordinances related to the sale and consumption of drugs, underage drinking, and the legal ramifications for breaking the laws.

Youth Dialogue Day

Youth led conversation with local community leaders re: substance use/misuse, school climate, vaping, bullying, violence, and more.

Sticker Shock

Strategy to raise awareness for by posting signage reminding everyone that purchasing alcohol for minors is illegal and can result in fines.
